McDSP CELEBRATES 25 YEARS

McDSP is celebrating 25 years in pro audio. Founded in 1998 by Colin McDowell, McDSP technology can be found in software and hardware products for popular digital audio workstations including Pro Tools, Logic, and Cubase, as well as the Avid VENUE live sound system. To recap some of the milestones, we bring to you a short documentary about the company, its origins, and some of the ideas that make us who we are.

APB KD1 KINETIC DRIVE TEC AWARD FINALIST

The KD1 Kinetic Drive has been selected as a finalist for the 2024 TEC Awards under the Signal Processing Software (Effects) Category. The KD1 Kinetic Drive APB plug-in provides direct control over many analog saturation attributes of the APB hardware, for a variety of sounds from subtle harmonic overtones to complete sonic mayhem.

THE ALL NEW BOB APB PLUG-IN

The BOB APB plug-in boosts low frequencies in the same way as the original BOB module from the 6060 Ultimate Module collection, with additional analog processing options. All original BOB module controls are in the BOB APB plug-in - Bias, Frequency, Squash, Rate, and Bias Modes A and B. A new two stage analog signal path in the BOB APB plug-in further enhances the original bass optimized bias, using three new controls - Gain, Trim/HR (Headroom), and Analog Modes I and II. Metering of the overall gain reduction, Squash gain reduction, input, and output, is shown via two VU style meters on the far left and right of the user interface.

APB-16 25 YEAR ANNIVERSARY LIMITED EDITION

McDSP has created a special version of the APB-16 to commemorate our 25 year anniversary. All functionality is the same as a standard APB-16, but the coloring is black and gold as shown. Each unit is also signed by McDSP founder Colin McDowell. This version of the APB-16 is being produced in a limited number. Units will be available soon. SA-3 SPECTRAL PROCESSOR NOW SHIPPING

McDSP is pleased to be shipping the SA-3 Spectral Processor. The SA-3 takes the algorithms of the Engineering Emmy Award winning SA-2 Dialog Processor to another level. New features include adding over 1,000 bands of processing, a user programmable Bias curve, unique Focus, Range, and Density control over spectral processing, side chain support and mid/side processing.

Like the SA-2, the SA-3 is great for removing unwanted spectral spikes in dialog, vocals, and many other kinds of audio inputs. The SA-3 is also able to track and eliminate persistent peaks, at nearly any frequency in the audio spectrum.

Windows support coming in February 2024.
